Rhinos were poached to extinction during the 1970’s but the government and other non-government organization are trying to restore them back. From Ziwa Rhino sanctuary, you will drive to Masindi for lunch before proceeding to Murchison Falls National Park with a visit to the top of the falls. This will be evening so you will transfer to your overnight accommodation.

Meal plan: Lunch and Dinner

Drive time: 4-5 hours

Lodging: Murchison River Lodge

Day Two: Morning game drive and boat cruise.

This is the largest National Park in Uganda with an area of 3840 km2. The River Nile divides the park into the north and south sectors and forms fall where it flows over the western rift valley escarpment.  Here, the river is forced through a 6-metre gap in the rocks and cascades into a boiling pot 40 metres below. A boat cruise up-stream to the falls provides an unforgettable experience! Visitors are able to watch a variety of animals. These include elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, hippo, crocodile, several antelope species and many species of bird life along the Nile as the boat travels along.

Awake early and set-off with your guide to catch some of the night’s animals before they return to their hide-outs. Make your way down to the Nile Delta where you may spot giraffe, elephant, different varieties of antelope, buffalo, a wide range of birds and if you are lucky, lions and leopards.

A trip in Murchison Falls without a boat cruise down the Nile to the bottom of the falls is not complete so we will spend time on a cruise to the bottom of the falls enjoying the beautiful and strongest falls in Africa. Watch birds flying in to roost and animals taking one last drink at the river before return back to the lodge.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Lodging: Murchison River Lodge

Day Three: Delta Cruise on the Nile and afternoon game drive.

Early morning departure from the lodge with picnic Lunch and transfer to catch the morning boat at the Jetty point. While on this boat cruise, you can spot several herds of buffaloes, Uganda Kobs, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Giraffes, Elephants, and several other wild animals that flock the River Nile to drink water. Not forgetting the several bird species that can as well be spotted while on the boat. You will in the afternoon have a game drive as you head to the lodge for relaxation and overnight.
