Uganda Gorilla Permits Bwindi and Mgahinga
It is impossible to trek mountain gorillas in Uganda National Park without securing Uganda gorilla permits. Gorilla trekking takes place in three African countries of Rwanda, Uganda and Democratic Republic of Congo. According to the current census, mountain gorilla numbers have increased to 1004 individuals and thanks to the conservation efforts by the three governments as well as nature lovers around the world. These endangered great apes can only survive in their natural habitats in Uganda, Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo. There only three national Park where one can get an opportunity to visit and trek these giant and rare great apes. These national Parks include, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda, Virunga National Park in DRC , Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda.
Booking Uganda gorilla permits
All Uganda gorilla permits are issued by one conservation body called Uganda Wildlife Authority. Uganda wildlife Authority is the body in charge of National Parks in Uganda including Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. To book you Uganda gorilla permit, you need to contact a tour operator like Encounter Africa safaris who will then check availability of gorilla pemits for the dates requested. Once we have established availability, we will reserve them tentatively for up to seven days until you make payment. You may pay by wire transfers or Credit Card. After payment, we will use these funds to pay for your gorilla permit at Uganda Wildlife Authority and later send you scanned copies for your records. Please note that we only book Uganda gorilla permits for only those who book all inclusive tours with us at Encounter Africa safaris.

When to book Uganda gorilla permits
Uganda gorilla permits to trek Uganda gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Mgahinga National Park tend to sell out quickly most especially high season months of June, July, August, September, December, January and February every year. It is therefore advised to book your gorilla permits in advance in order to be guaranteed space to see gorillas in Uganda. That said and done, we can also book you gorilla permits at last minute as long as you contact us.
Price of Uganda gorilla permits
The price of Uganda gorilla permits keep on changing but at the moment, Uganda gorilla permits cost USD600 per person per trek for one hour and USD1500.00 per person per trek for a four hour gorilla habituation experience. This applies to 2018 and 2019. This price of gorilla permits makes Uganda the second most affordable gorilla trekking nation after DRC. Rwanda gorilla permits cost a hooping USD1500 and DRC Permits cost USD400. Because of the insecurity on the Congo, gorilla trekking activities have been suspended leaving Uganda as the most affordable gorilla trekking nation in the whole world.
