Rwanda voted best African Exhibitor at ITB
Rwanda- Known as “A Country with a thousand hills” has been voted as the winner of Africa exhibitor in the just concluded tourism and travel exhibition (ITB) held in Berlin from 1st-4th March 2015. Rwanda compared to Uganda invests so much in Tourism marketing and this is a testimony that their efforts have started to yield fruits.
vKnown for her genocide of 1994 where many people majority tsutsi were killed and massacred in cold blood, the country has developed to become the leading mountain gorilla tracking country in Africa much as the price of gorilla permits in Rwanda are far much expensive compared to those in Uganda. Kigali has been voted as one of the few cleanest towns in Africa, roads have been tarmac ked and the country is set to benefit from tourism. Compared to Uganda, Rwanda does not have many tourist attractions apart from the gorillas in volcanoes National Park, the semi habituated chimpanzees in Nyungwe National Park, the Kagera national park as well as their amazing culture. Despite this shortage, the government has invested in a lot of funds in tourism making Rwanda more attractive than Uganda.
Tourism remains a major forex earner of the country and the government investment remains strong since Rwanda is not doing well in other sectors such as Agriculture, industry among others.
