Low-season discounts in Uganda are available yearly during the rainy seasons of March to April and October to November. During this time of the year, Uganda receives few tourists. The Uganda wildlife authority, the main body regulating Uganda safaris destinations, sometimes offers discounted prices, but this is not guaranteed. In the past, the Uganda Wildlife Authority set discounted prices on Uganda gorilla permits for the low seasons, but this is not applicable now. These seasonal discounted safari costs used to happen during the low tourism season.
In Uganda, the low Uganda safari season is usually March to May and Late October to November. This low season, however, is an advantage for those wishing to use high-end facilities at a limited cost. In addition, some of the service providers give more discounted prices to break even.
The high tourism season on the other side in Uganda is from June to September and December to January. These Uganda safari costs are high because of the high demand for these services throughout the country, yet the service providers are limited.

Gorilla Trekking
In Uganda, the most sought-after activity is gorilla trekking. These are some of the only leftover mountain gorillas in the world. They live in Bwindi Impenetrable National park and Mgahinga National park. You must purchase a gorilla trekking permit from Uganda Wildlife Authority in order to be part of this adventure. Currently, the cost of a Uganda Gorilla trekking permit is $700 per person for foreign nonresidents, $600 for foreign residents, and 250,000shs for East African Residents.
The gorilla permits for Bwindi Impenetrable National park are sold according to the area, and that is the Buhoma area, Ruhijah area, Nkuringo area, and Rushaga area. Therefore, even accommodation you reserve for gorilla trekking safari must be closer to where your gorilla permit is booked so that you do not have to wake up early to catch up with the briefing.
Mountain gorillas live in families, and Bwindi Impenetrable National park has about 18 gorilla families open for tourism. In contrast, Mgahinga National Park has only one gorilla family open for tourism. The dominant silverback is the leader of each gorilla family, and he fights to his breath to defend his family. He also seeks new feeding grounds for the gorilla trekking family.
