Lodges in Murchison Falls National Park

Masindi Hotel

This colonial-style hotel, one of Uganda’s oldest, was recently renovated and provides nice accommodation at a reasonable rate. Located in the town of Masindi, the hotel’s restaurant and bar also provide an excellent lunch stop on the way to Murchison Falls National Park. Guests can easily travel to the nearby “Royal Mile”, famous for its majestic mahogany trees and numerous bird species

Sambiya Lodge

This mid range lodge sits near the top of Murchison Falls in a beautiful forested ravine. Traditional thatched and stone “rondavel” rooms are all en suite with solar powered heat and lighting. The central dining and bar area is located in an open sided veranda, allowing guests to view the floodlit garden area at night where animals graze and even visit the swimming pool. The forest surrounding the lodge is perfect for those wanting to search for birds and other wildlife.

Nile Safari Lodge

This lodge, located on the banks of the Nile River, is halfway between Murchison Falls and Lake Albert. Guests can choose from tented camps or log cabins, all with their own private wooden verandas facing the Nile. All rooms are en suite. The lodge’s restaurant and bar overlook the river and guests can enjoy spectacular views from the lodge’s private swimming pool.

Paraa Lodge

This lodge, perched high on a cliff has spectacular views of the mighty Nile River. The large two story lodge has an upstairs restaurant and bar, perfect for enjoying drinks and dinner while watching the sun set over the Nile. A large pool area with its own bar provides a welcome respite from the heat of the day.

Red Chili Bandas

Red Chili Bandas is Murchison Falls only budget accommodation. Rooms, known as “bandas”, are small two person circular huts made of local materials with thatched roofs. Guests can choose between en suite or shared facilities. With its close proximity to the park, Red Chili offers guests an opportunity to enjoy the local wildlife, including friendly warthogs and monkeys, right outside their rooms.

Chobe Lodge

This new lodge stands on the cliff above the Victoria Nile valley on the far Eastern side of Murchison Falls National Park. It boasts breathtaking panoramic views, and sounds of the River Nile’s magnificent rapids of as it sets the scene for an adventure that will impress even the most discerning of visitors. Its accommodation consists of 36 elegant guest rooms, 21 luxury tents, 4 suites and a Presidential Cottage. The River Nile is the main focus from an architect’s perspective, and so all the rooms and luxury tents have balconies and terraces facing the magnificent sweeping views. It has a well stocked bar, lounge and terrace for meals as well as two swimming pools and related facilities

Murchison River lodge

Murchison River Lodge has been carefully and sensitively built on the edge of the mighty River Nile overlooking pods of hippos and Uganda’s magnificent Murchison Falls National Park. It offers comfortable and relaxing mid-range accommodation in safari tents and beautiful thatched cottages. Due to the location and being respectful of the environment solar energy has been widely utilsed – solar panels have been fitted to roofs, the solar water pump fills the tanks and the solar fridges and freezers keep everything cold and cool. The grounds are large with many large trees providing shade in the heat of the day as well as many bird species and smaller mammals such as monkeys to cohabit with the lodge and its visitors.

Pakuba Lodge.

Pakuba lodge is situated on the eastern bank of Albert Nile, easily accessed through Tangi gate. Its 46 Luxury spacious rooms can be set with either twins or a double bed. The large lounge area and surrounding grounds give guests a grand-stand view of Lake Albert and the Albert Nile.
