Rooms and Rates
Lake Mutanda resort is spaciously set up and stretches into Lake Mutanda. The cottages each come with private veranda and en-suite bathroom, they have single, double/twin and family/triple rooms with comfortable beds and mosquito nets. The room rates for 2020/2021 are inclusive of VAT per room per night. Single room costs $210, Double/Twin Rooms costs $295, and a triple/Family room costs $400, these rates are on full board meal plan basis.
How to access Lake Mutanda Resort
You can opt for a road trip from Kampala/Entebbe which is approximately 9-10 hours into Kisoro district. The resort is a 45-minute scenic drive from Kisoro town, you will be able to see a lot on the way, the beautiful landscape, the Equator, people and shops. You can also access the Resort from Kigali via Cyanika Border between Uganda and Rwanda as it is even a short drive of about 5-6 hours and also you have a lot to see on the road. You can also opt to fly into Kisoro Airstrip from Entebbe International Airport/Kajjansi, the airstrip is very close to the resort. There are has daily domestic flights by domestic Airline companies with morning and afternoon schedules. We do also organize safaris to other locations of the park
Activities to do while staying at Lake Mutanda Resort
Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi and Mgahinga

On your visit to Lake Mutanda Resort, you do not have to miss an experience of a lifetime of trekking the gorillas. The resort is strategically located and gives you an opportunity to either trek gorillas in Bwindi or Mgahinga National Park depending on availability of gorilla permits. Golden Monkey tracking in Mgahinga National Park
The golden Monkeys are one of the endangered primates and can only be trekked in Mgahinga National Park, your stay at Lake Mutanda which is close to Mgahinga gives you a chance not to miss out on seeing these beautiful rare primates in their natural environment. The golden Monkey permit costs USD100 per person per trek inclusive of guiding fees and park entrance fees.
Mutanda Island trip
This trip can be arranged will at the resort in your free time, Mutanda Island boat trip takes you 2-3 hours to the burial place of Kyangushu will be followed by Mutanda Island, the biggest and the only inhabited one. There are amazing views of the Congo border, Lake Mulehe and Bwindi impenetrable forest. You can also participate in this trip with other residents at the Resort to reduce costs and make it more enjoyable.
Batwa Trail Encounter
The indigenous Batwa pygmy people is a must-do trail, The Batwa are Uganda’s indigenous people who used to stay in the forest before evacuation in order to protect and conserve wildlife and the forest. You will be able to appreciate their culture, traditions, dances, Language and way of life. You will pay a small fee for this encounter, and this can be organized at the Resort or in advance with Encounter Africa safaris.

Mgahinga Volcano climbing is one of the most beautiful hiking places in Uganda where you can choose to climb Mountain Muhavura, Gahinga and Sabinyo which are among the six Virunga mountain chain of Rwanda, D R Congo and Uganda famous for Mountain Hiking and Gorilla trekking.
