GORILLA SAFARI UGANDA AND RWANDA

Gorilla safaris need preparations way in advance. You need to purchase your gorilla trekking permit from Uganda Wildlife Authority or Rwanda at least 6 months in advance. Gorilla permits for June, July, August, September, and February tend to run out of stock quickly. Always contact us for gorilla permit availability so that you plan accordingly.

GORILLA SAFARI FAMILIES

Uganda has 9 gorilla Families located in different sides of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga National Park. Rushegura and Habinyanja Gorilla Families can be tracked from Buhoma side, Oruzogo and Bitukura gorilla families are located in Ruhija approximately 2 hours drive from Buhoma. Nkuringo, Nshongi, Mishaya and Kahungye are on the Kisoro side of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

You need to contact us for advice on gorilla families as they determine which accommodation you will book and how long you may have to drive to reach the starting point. For those interested in staying at Gorilla Forest Camp, Buhoma Lodge, Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge, Buhoma Community, then, you will need to consider booking Rushegura and Habinyanja. If you dont mind driving two hours then Oruzogo and Bitukura are still ideal.

If you wish to trek Nkuringo, Mishaya, Kahungye and Nshongi, accommodation can be booked at Clouds Lodge, and Kisoro travellers rest Inn.
