Gorilla filming using gorilla habituation permits.
Gorilla filming using gorilla habituation permits can only take place in Uganda at present. Gorilla habituation is a new experience where tourists or visitors are allowed to spend four hours with mountain gorillas. For one to film gorillas, you are requested to obtain permission from Uganda Wildlife Authority and a fee of USD4050 is normally paid to obtain a filming contract from Uganda Wildlife Authority. On top of this, each film crew member is requested to buy a gorilla permit which allows them to spend one hour with mountain gorillas. However the advantage with using gorilla habituation permits is that you get to spend four hours with mountain gorillas so that you get enough time for filming. Gorilla habituation permits cost USD1500.00 per person while the normal gorilla permits costs USd600 per person. On average however, gorilla habituation is slightly less expensive in time/hours spent with the gorillas. The only difference is gorilla filming using gorilla habituation permits will only expose you to semi-habituated mountain gorillas which are still undergoing habituation compared to gorilla trekking permits which allow you to film full habituated mountain gorilla families.
