Media Cards/Media Accreditation

Film Crew Fixers assists all Media houses and film crews to process Press Accreditation for each and every member of the crew.  We operate in East and Central Africa where we work closely with government bodies that issue Media/press cards. In most locations of Africa, the process of acquiring Media accreditation defer but will likely take 3-4 or a week as long as all paperwork requested is processed and sent to us. Depending on whether you want to film in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, The Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and any other country in Africa, our resident fixer is able to assist with Media accreditation since it is mandatory and a must-have to film in most locations we operate in. Equipment hire and Customs Kit clearing

The government of Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, South Sudan, Malawi requires all film crews and Media companies intending to come with their equipment to temporarily clear it at immigration on arrival something that can waste much of your time and you end up incurring the unexpected cost. At Film Crew Fixer, we are experts in this and when contacted, we ensure that your filming equipment gets a temporary bond to be allowed for the period of your shoot. A certain fee is normally charged for this and ranges from 2-10 percent of the total value of your Kit list. Further note that the charge varies from country to country so our resident and logistics fixer will handle this depending on the country and location of your shoot. Whether you are planning a shoot in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania, South Sudan, The Democratic Republic of Congo, our fixer and Clearing agent will make sure that your equipment is cleared into the respective country. If you prefer hiring film equipment for your shoot, please send us your kit/gear list and we establish if we can get it anywhere in Africa. Most countries in East and Central Africa have limited gear and the only available options to hire filming equipment are Kenya and South Africa.

Visa processing

You need a visa to enter any African country for filming. Depending on the country/location of your choice, you can obtain a visa on arrival or be required to apply for it online. Most film crews do not like lining up for this or applying online by themselves. This should not worry you as we will assist you to apply for a visa on your behalf. If requested, we will send you an invitation letter that you will present to any embassy for them to issue you a visa. Work Permit processing

Most countries in Africa will require you to have a work permit to carry out any filming and production business. You can only get accreditation after processing a visa and work permit for the duration. Film Crew Fixers is aware of the hassles crews go through to obtain such. Uganda Wildlife Filming Contract

Filming in any of Uganda’s National Parks requires you to obtain a filming contract and permits from Uganda Wildlife Authority. Many film crews who have contacted Uganda Wildlife Authority directly will share with you their story but at Encounter Africa safaris, we process and obtain for you a Memorandum of Understanding from Uganda Wildlife Authority (MOU) which will enable you carry out your filming in any of Uganda’s National Park. Filming mountain gorillas will cost you more than filming chimpanzees or other wildlife. Our location fixers are well conversant with filming crew fixing fees at Uganda Wildlife Authority and you won’t go wrong if you contact us. To enable us do this for you, you will need to send us a letter with your company logo and details explain who you are, which national parks you want to film, for how long, and how your shoot will help Uganda as a tourist destination. This letter should as well have details of crew members and their designations. If you want us to pick your copy from UWA on your behalf, then you will be required to send us an authorization letter to enable us pick it on your behalf.
