The 9-day safari can be done by those interested in Game, Flora, Fauna and Primates. While on this safari, one will be able to visit Samburu Game Reserve National Park, Masai Mara National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will be able to do Game drives and Bird watching, Cultural Encounters and Gorilla Trekking.

  • Day 1: Pick up from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Nairobi and drive to Samburu Game Reserve for an overnight stay.
  • Day 2: Game Drive in Samburu National Park
  • Day 3: Drive from Samburu National Park to Naivasha for overnight stay.

  • Day 7: Flight from Kisumu to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Entebbe International Airport. 
  • Day 8: Track Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
  • Day 9: Track Golden Monkeys in the morning and drive to Kigali in the afternoon to catch an evening flight back home.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up from Airport/Hotel in Nairobi and transfer to Samburu National Park

On arrival at the Airport/hotel, you are met by an Encounter Africa Safaris driver guide for the drive to the north through Kenya to being your adventure across this landscape. The picturesque countryside will be a lovely introduction to the country, as you watch everyday life played out in the towns and villages that line the roads. You will do short game drive as you drive to your accommodation in the park, and after lunch a more extensive game drive will be undertaken likely to spot lions, leopards and elephants.

Day 2: Game drives in Samburu National Park.

Awake before daylight for a very early morning game drive, a chance to view the Samburu’s special of Beisa Oryx, gerenuk, the Somali Ostrich, Grevy Zebra and rediculate giraffe. Transfer back to your lodge for breakfast, relax and lunch. The entire Samburu region is a place of breath-taking and magical beauty, a place where the vision of a deep red sunset silhouetting the doom palms along the river as a leopard emerges to hunt brings the perfect end to a day on safari.  Go for an evening game drive. Samburu is also home to lions, leopard, cheetah, herds of elephants, elands, wild dogs and a myriad of birds.

Day 3: Samburu – Naivasha (Approximately 7hrs drive)

Early morning breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha. You will have a ride along the way as you enjoy the view of the rift valley. You will have an evening boat ride at L. Naivasha. 

Overnight shall be at Burch Resort or tented camp resort.

Day 4: Naivasha – Masai Mara (Approximately 5-6 hours Drive)

Early morning breakfast, you will have a brief drive at the lake, check out on time drive to Masai Mara a home to the big five and more. An afternoon game viewing drive in this spectacular reserve shall introduce you to its splendors.

Meal plan: Full board.

Day 5: Game drive in Masai Mara National Park

Breakfast will be served at 0630Hrs at the resort and thereafter, you will head out for a full day game drive in this magnificent park up to the Mara River. Lunch will be packed and will be had in the park. Or, you will do a morning game drive, return to the resort for lunch and a break, and thereafter, embark on an afternoon game drive and later return to the resort in time for dinner and wind down.

Maasai Mara is famous for the Annual Wildebeest Migration that takes place between the months of July and October.

 During this time over a million wildebeests accompanied by thousands of other herbivores, migrate from Serengeti National Park to the Mara in search for greener pastures. Hundreds of lions and hyenas follow them picking on the old and weaker ones. The legendary black mane lion is only found in Maasai Mara. The cheetah hunts best in these open grasslands.

Day 6: Masai Mara to Kisumu

Today you will do a morning game drive at 0630Hrs and return to the lodge for breakfast. Check out after breakfast and head to Kisumu by road. Lunch will be had on the way. Evening arrival in Kisumu for relaxation.

Day 7: Fly to Bwindi

Have breakfast at the lodge, check out and head to the airport for your flight from Kisumu to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Entebbe International Airport.

Day 8: Track Mountain Gorillas

Early breakfast at the lodge and then head out to track Mountain Gorillas

Accommodation: Lake Chahafi resort

Meal Plan: Full Board

Day 9: Golden Monkey and Flight out

Track Golden Monkeys in the morning in Mgahinga National Park, return to the lodge for lunch and drive to Kigali for an evening arrival in time for your flight back home.

Safari Vans


Our standard mode of transport is by road and we use 4×4 Safari Vans customized for game viewing and photography. Each safari van comes with a professionally trained driver guide and fuel for the whole safari. Our Safari vans have viewing hatches and each client is entitled to a window seat. Our Vans can take up to eight people. We also have 4×4 Super Customs very comfortable and stable on the road. These carry up to 5 people with their luggage. We also have 4×4 RAV 4 for a group of two people

Safari land cruiser


We have luxury latest Land cruisers each driven by professionally trained driver guides and fuel. They have pop-up roofs for proper game viewing and photography. They come with a small fridge for cooling your drinking water while on safari (which is always included while IN THE VEHICLE). They have inverters for charging small gadgets such as your smartphones and cameras. They can seat five to a maximum of seven people and each client is guaranteed of a window seat.
