The dry season is most preferred for hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and game drives in Masai Mara National Reserve. The trails on Mount Kilimanjaro are better to navigate in the dry season, and so are the tracks in Masai Mara National Reserve.
In terms of scenery, moving to Mount Kilimanjaro gives you the best views of the scenery around this mountain. While on a game drive in Masai Mara during the dry season, several animals walk freely in the grass as it is dry and the grass is shorter.
Animals are more mobile in the dry season as there is less grass available to satisfy the herbivores, so even the carnivores can sneak out on these animals. Carnivore drama is easier to witness in the dry season.
However, note that demand for this safari is high, with people wishing to do both mountain hiking and game safari in Masai Mara National Reserve. Expect to share the same space with other people and be ready to mingle with strangers.
Book all the necessary logistics for a safari like accommodation, transport and much more.
The wet season which is normally the low season may not provide a good environment for activities like mountain climbing especially when the rains are so intense. The low season in Masai Mara National Reserve may provide chances to seeing more infant births since there is plenty of food for different animals to feed on and hide from predators.
A safari in Masai Mara National Reserve is safe, and so is hiking Mount Kilimanjaro as long as you abide by the rules of this adventure. On the ground, ranger guides from the Kenya Wildlife Service patrol the safari activities in the Masai Mara. Every hiking safari on Mount Kilimanjaro must be conducted by a professional ranger guide, especially from the Tanzania Wildlife Management Authority (TAWA).
Try to follow the rules of game safaris and hiking on Mount Kilimanjaro so as not to get into trouble while on safari. Mountain Kilimanjaro has some no-go areas that only the ranger guides can locate, so try to follow the routes taken so as not to create new paths.

Pack the required hiking gears so that you donot get hurt while up on the mountain like insect bites, wear long convertible trousers, pack first aid kit and others.
On ground are other security agencies who offer extra protection to tourists, the game park surrounding environment on the mountain and much more.
The cost of hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and Masai Mara National Reserve varies with factors like the trail to follow, the number of days to be on safari, the number of people traveling with, and others. Entrance fees are compulsory for either game safari in Masai Mara or Hiking Mount Kilimanjaro Park.
Other factors you may consider when costing for this safari include porter hire during the hike, tips, on ground purchases and other costs.
