Queen Elizabeth National Park located in western Uganda is one of three most visited National Park in Uganda. Other popular parks include, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for gorillas and birding, Kibale National Park for habituated chimpanzee trekking and Murchison Falls National Park for game drives and boat cruises on the mighty river Nile.

As tourism continue to grow, many budget and affordable lodges have been built in and around Queen Elizabeth National Park which can be utilized by clients in order to save some money which can then be used to pay for other activities in the park such as game drives, park entry fees, boat cruises among others.
Institute of Ecology
This is one of the oldest budget accommodations to have been established in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Located at Mweya Peninsular just close to Mweya Safari Lodge, Institute of Ecology offers both en suite and none self-contained rooms for tourists looking for budget options in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Strategically located, tourists staying at this camp can easily walk to the pier for the boat cruises on Kazinga channel, visit the ecological museum as well as citing animals that usually visit the peninsular. If you want, you can go to Mweya Safari Lodge for meals and stay at this camp since the two are within a walk able distance. The service and standards have been deteriorating of recent and all those who intend to stay at this lodge should take note of this.
UWA Quarters
These were rooms formerly occupied by Uganda Wildlife Authority Staff before their offices were shifted to Katunguru. These have been renovated to provide a budget accommodation option on the peninsula. No meals are provided when you stay at this facility but there is a nearby Canteen which used to belong to Uganda Wildlife Authority but is now privately run where different menus are prepared. Alternatively, you can walk to Mweya Safari lodge for your meals.
Kazinga Channel Lodge
This is located outside Queen Elizabeth National Park on the opposite side of Kazinga channel. It was started by the manager of Institute of Ecology and this facility offers both dorms and en suite rooms in order to have many choices for budget tourists.
Simba Safari Camp
Owned and run by Uganda Lodges, Simba Safari Camp is another budget option for tourists intending to visit queen Elizabeth National Park. Located outside the park off the Queen-Kasese road, this camp provides reasonably affordable services for all those with limited budget.
Many budget and affordable accommodation properties have been constructed in the Bunyaruguru area as well as Kasese town and one should not labor to find one that suites their budget. Alternatively, Uganda Wildlife Authority has several campsites in Mweya and Ishasha ( Southern sector of the park) which can be utilized by those who prefer to pinch their own tents.
