The Bagisu tribe is known for its Imbalu ritual, which is an initiation ceremony where the boyhood stage is replaced by the manhood stage of life, and it occurs during even years.
The Sabiny tribe has some traditions of its own, which include dancing, singing, and crafting activities, among others. These visits include village walks, conversations with elders, and demonstrations of traditional activities such as grinding millet, brewing beer, and making jewelry.
Best time to visit Mount Elgon National Park.
June to August and December to February represent the best times to visit. It is the driest time of the year with hard trails that can easily be navigated. With clear skies enable great visibility for viewing the mountain's crater and the mountains around it. The wildlife can be seen more easily because the animals tend to congregate near the few remaining water sources. Trails become slippery and more difficult. The crowds are thinner, and accommodation prices may be lower, but travelers should be prepared for challenging conditions.
