Day 1: Pick up from your hotel/Airport Kigali and drive to Nyungwe forest National Park
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be welcomed by our professional tour guide who will take you for a city excursion in and around Kigali. This is to enable you orient yourself with this great country of ‘a thousand hills. After this excursion, you will proceed to Nyungwe forest National Park, Nyungwe is rich in biodiversity and spectacularly beautiful. The mountainous region is teaming with wildlife, including a small population of chimpanzees as well as 12 other species of primate, including the L’Hoest’s monkey endemic to the Albertine Rift.

Day 2: chimpanzee Trekking in Nyungwe National Park
Have an early morning tasty breakfast at the lodge, you will start your exciting morning drive to the Nyungwe National Park Headquarters to begin your trek into the indigenous forest in search for the amazing chimpanzees. This trek gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself into the strange but intimate part of the rain-forest where you will hear live calls of colorful birds, chattering of the monkeys, you will spend one hour when you meet the chimpanzees, take Photography’s and observe as they live their life. You will later return and procced to have lunch at the lodge and later relax at the lodge to chill from the tiresome and exciting activity of the day.

Day 3: Transfer to Bukavu in DR Congo
After breakfast, you will drive southwest through a remote and beautiful part of Rwanda and arrive at the DRC border of Cyangugu. You will get visa clearance before crossing the Border in to Congo, you will proceed to Bukavu town and then check in at the Hotel.

Day 4: Low Land Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park
Today after breakfast, you will depart for Kahuzi-Biega National Park. The drive is about 1hour but enjoyable as drive past Lake Kivu shores to the park headquarters. The Park is dominated by two huge extinct volcanoes (Kahuzi and Beiga). The park is the last stronghold of the eastern lowland gorillas, numbering around 250 individuals with three habituated families. After a short briefing by the park rangers who will lead you into Kahuzi-Biega Park to search for the eastern lowland gorillas. During the trek, park rangers will explain the family dynamics, and after finding the gorillas, you will spend an hour watching them feed and play before you return to the park headquarters to end the trek.

Day 5: Drive back to Kigali for drop off at the Hotel/Airport
After breakfast, you will drive back to Kigali city for your flight out to end your memorable Rwanda Chimp and Congo Eastern Lowland Gorilla safari. The drive is about 7 hours but very enjoyable with Stops on the countryside for Photography and Lunch.
