Jinja town is a historical town and was Uganda’s main industrial city where the Owen Falls Dam one of the first hydro power generating centers in the country was built on River Nile. While on Jinja town tour, you may get the opportunity to visit the Owen Falls Dam.

The source of River Nile is located in Jinja town where River Nile water separates from lake Victoria water. The dramatic separation of calm Lake Victoria water draws and River Nile water that rashes off as though it has to catch up with a journey is interesting to watch. To get to the point where River Nile starts it journey, you need to hire a boat from the pier.
