In the past, the Batwa used to raid the gardens of farming neighbors and retreat into the 342 meters long Garama cave placed close to the edge of Mgahinga National Park. This cave also acted like the council chamber for the Batwa.
As of today, the Garama caves are the auditorium for traditional Batwa performances and a reminder of there passed life.
