2016 UWA tariffs
Uganda Wildlife Authority officially announced their 2016 UWA tariffs which will effectively start on 1st January 2016. In a letter addressed to the Chairman Association of Uganda Tour Operators, there has been no major changes from the 2015 tariffs except the introduction of discounted chimpanzee permits in months of April, May and November. This means that tourists and visitors to Uganda can now enjoy low season rates for both gorilla and chimp permits. 2016 UWA tariffs also has changes in helicopter charges as it is now based on per landing and not per day as it was in 2015. 2016 UWA tariffs
Uganda wildllfe Authority remains committed to the conservation of wildlife in protected areas and this year alone has seen many developments intended to conserve and at the sametime improve tourist satisfaction and experience. At the start of 2015, Uganda Wildlife Authority introduced giraffes in Lake Mburo National Park to enhance tourists experience and in the same year, mountain gorilla habituation experience was introduced in Rushaga region of Bwindi Impenetrable National park confirming Uganda to be the first country to introduce gorilla habituation experience in the whole world. Many head offices have been constructed and others given a new look. These include those in lake Mburo National Park, Nkuringo in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park among others. 2016 UWA tariffs are thus aimed at improving developments in the park as well as conserving wild game and plants in protected areas. These tariffs will be valid from January 2016 to December 31st 2016.
