Uganda Wildlife authority is yet again offering low season gorilla permits for 2015 at a discounted rate of USD350.00 for foreign residents and Uganda shillings 150,000 for all East African citizens. This campaign to promote Uganda as a tourism destination stated in 2013 when UWA lowered gorilla permit price in low seasons of April May and November of that year.
The normal price of a gorilla permit in Uganda is currently at USD600.00 for foreign none residents, USD500.00 for foreign residents with a work permit and Uganda Shillings 250,000 for East African citizens including Ugandan, Kenyans, Tanzanians, Rwandese, and those from Burindi . If well utilized, tourists can save up to USD250.00 which they can then use for either transport or accommodation in Bwindi Impenetrable National park and or Mgahinga National Park.
Uganda remains a leading country in as far as mountain gorilla tourism is concerned with over 400 gorilla individuals resident in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park alone. Bwindi has up to eleven habituated gorilla families situated in different regions of the forest such as Buhoma in the north, Ruhija in the east, Nkuringo and Ruhaga in the south.
At Encounter Africa safaris, we book tours and gorilla permits on behalf of our clients. Please let us know the date, month and year when you are looking forward to trekking gorillas in Uganda, we will then check availability of gorilla permit at Uganda Wildlife Authority for that day and then advise you.
Our system is very transparent and if you are in for that day, we will send you an invoice to wire money on to our Bank account or use our credit card services (We accept Master and Visa Cards at the moment) and when money appears on to our account, we will book your gorilla permits and then scan and send you a copy of the receipts and card for your records.
If you are booking gorilla permits alone, you will then pass by our office to pick them before you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This is because Uganda Wildlife Authority officials will demand for the original gorilla permits and receipts before you trek.
If you book an all-inclusive and guided tour with Encounter Africa safaris, then we will take care of everything and your permits and other vouchers will be carried by our guide who will be with you through the tour.
